Fist Grip Clamps

Wire Rope Fist Grip Clips
Fist grip clips, also called double-saddle wire rope clips, are used to connect two cable ends together or make a wire rope eye. They are hot dip galvanized to resist corrosion and comprised of two saddles, two bolts and two hex nuts. Fist grip clamps are an alternative to
swage sleeves and simplify installation over
U-bolt wire rope clamps. Drop forged, carbon steel fist grip type clips are suitable for overhead lifting and suspension. Note: Two or more fist grip clips are often required for each eye or loop; consult ASME B30.26 specifications for installation.
- Double-saddle design prevents upside down installation
- Fewer fist grip clips are required for lap splices compared to U-bolt clamps
- Use with wire rope thimbles to prevent damage to cable eyes
- Hot dip galvanized for corrosion resistance
- Wire rope clamps can derate the cable assembly by 10% to 20%
- Installation requires a torque wrench and must be re-torqued after a test load
