Hex Key Stock

Hex key stock, sometimes called hexagon shaft, hex shaft stock, or hex stock, is frequently used for tool shafts, tool steel, drill bits, transmission shafts, axles, machine mounts, and gearbox output shafts. Due to its shape, Hex key stock does not need a key or key way to secure the shaft to a hub or gear, thus saving costs in machining time. When cutting hex keys from this key stock, size is measured across the parallel flats of the bar.
