Circle Cotter Pins

Circle Cotter Pins

Circle cotter pins, also known as circle cotters and cotter rings, are used as a locking mechanism for various drilled pins such as a hitch pin or clevis pin for fastening. Installation is as simple as inserting the cotter through the drilled hole by hand. For this style of cotter pin, the end is turned toward the inside of the circle making it safe to use on fabric or rubber applications where a point could be a potential cause for damage. These are considered lighter duty and are not well suited for applications with stress or vibration.

  • Simple, tool-free installation
  • Ideal for use when a protruding end could damage adjacent parts
  • Suitable for lighter duty functions
