Type G and DIN 1469 grooved pins are one of the most unique looking styles; the three half-length, non-tapered grooves are placed near one of the ends but stay enclosed within the shaft. The other end features a grooved pilot. This style of pilot allows the component to function as a spring anchor in through or blind holes. While Type G and DIN 1469 grooved pins are similar in design and appearance, they represent imperial and metric dimensions and should not be used interchangeably.
The
general grooved pin category consists of several specific types, including those with other DIN specifications. They are all a variation of a solid, press-fit pin with three parallel grooves running a designated length of the shaft.
